Born Leslie Francis Rubenstein in 1905, the daughter of Lillian Spellman, she married William Silberberg in 1927. In the 1960s she worked at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda. A short biographical sketch of her appears in "Partners in Wonder: Women and the Birth of Science Fiction 1926-1965", by Eric Leif Davin (2006). Her work is also discussed in:
